Disney held the premiere for its latest Ariel adventure, "The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning," on beautiful Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California. The movie was shown in the classic Avalon Theatre.

Actors included "Ariel" actors Jodi Benson, Samuel E. Wright, Parker Goris, and Jim Cummings. Guest celebrities included Noah Wyle, Jane Leeves, Casper Van Dien, Eric Martsolf, Jennifer Stone, director Peggy Holmes, and Disney's Bob Chapek.

The DVD was released on August 26th, 2008.
