Leslie
Iwerks' acclaimed film, "The Pixar Story, screened
before a full house at the Egyptian Theatre in
Hollywood, CA. The show was held on December 11th,
2007.
Animation and artistic greats who attended the
screening included John Musker, Alice Davis, Andreas
Deja and Richard M. Sherman. Writer Charles Soloman
("The Disney That Never Was") moderated a discussion
with director Leslie Iwerks and Roy E. Disney. After
the show, both Leslie and Roy were greeted by well
meaning fans. Mr. Disney had a lot of fans asking
him to sign pictures of himself.
"The Pixar Story" is excellent and provides an
insight into one of the most successful and
imaginitive animation studios around. Iwerks and her
crew have done a tremendous job in constructing a
fascinating story about how Pixar became what it is
today. The film features footage and stills from the
earliest days of Pixar, plus interviews with John &
Nancy Lasseter, Brad Bird, Tom Hanks, Tim Allen,
George Lucas, Joe Ranft, Ed Catmull, Alvy Ray Smith
and many more. The film took five years of research
and interviews to bring to the screen and it's well
worth a visit. |
